Know your limit. Stay Within it.

Old don't matter.

I have lots to post, some of it's going to be old. Leave me alone.

Lather rinse repeat.

It's good. What.

The Unexpected.

Yeah, they sound a bit like Vampire Weekend, but is that a bad thing?

That, and I posted it so that the cello player can know how much she means to me.

Take note of the many Toronto references including Sal's Tattoo and Barber Shop on Spadina.

Check out their last album too. Marriage is great, and so are so many songs on that album like Northern Towns.

A pair a reasons for a post.

1. I came across a band I haven't heard in a very long time, and I like.
2. The video MAKES NO SENSE.

Tardiness.

Sorry for the absence. Perfectly good explanations I swear.

"No Other English Word Ends in ff."

The staff of the Banff Mountain Film Fest said a lot of stiff things about their name, none of which to do with cliffs, but I don’t to get too far off topic.
Here’s one that was featured a few years back at the festival; I was cuffed by the riffs.

It's Josh Ritter singing Wings for the film Sinners@02:35.
See also RitterW/Harrisburg@14:50.

I really like the 'Dirty ol Tractor Song' (the live version is better), but it's all fantastic. See Little Miss Higgins at Mariposa in July!

shinsetsu

this song both reminds me of crazy ass japanese powder and well....of lovestains.

these are some of the lyrics:

'You left a lovestain on my heart
And you left a bloodstain on the ground
But blood comes off easily'

lovestains are very difficult to get out.

Me v. MTV

So, not to make this all political or anything, but censorship is, well, sort of stupid.
Just in case you were fooled, the following was censored in this order:
slash,
fuck,
shit,
crotch,
bush,
and the zombie touches Peaches' boob; it's blurred out.

Getting some things out there.

I was thinking today that it's going to be difficult to start a music related Bog. I mean, there's so much it's almost overwhelming. There's new, and old, and sort of old, and things that people will have heard of long ago, and hopefully some things that they should've.
So I'm not going to worry about it.
There.
I said it.

Take that.
And this.

A blog is not a bog

Dave's Ida Maria post reminded me of Brooklyn's Palomar. In particular I like their song Our Haunt. They also have a sweet music video up on youtube with a dancing rubber chicken.

lack thereof.

On a personal note, I think this is one of my first blog posts.
Let me tell you a bit about myself:
My name is dave,
The word blog makes me think of a stagnant marsh; perhaps Norwegian,
and I like this:

Artist of the Day

I'm currently rockin out to some kick-ass John Lee Hooker. Plays some awesome blues. His best known track is most likely Boom Boom. Some digging around got me onto an LP that he shared with Big Maceo in 1963. Big Maceo recorded the first Worried Life Blues, probably one of the most covered blues songs ever. For that Big Maceo wins the Artist of the Day. Check him out.

A little bit of digging around also got me onto some Big Maceo, who did the original Worried Life Blues, probably one of the most covered blues songs ever.
